Nancy J. Fagan loves to write medical fiction, historical women’s fiction, and other short stories or essays. You can find her work in Tamarind Literary Magazine (UK), the award-winning Coolest American Stories 2023, Wishbone Words, NiftyLit, Fiction International, The Bangalore Review, Breath & Shadow, and Abilities-Canada, among others. She enjoys developing strong female protagonists and digging through historical accounts and library archives to help her create realistic scenes. Her background as a nurse who has worked in many different areas of medicine brings richness and complexity to her characters.
In addition to being a registered nurse, she has a BA in English from Mount Holyoke College, and an MFA in Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. A western Massachusetts based writer, she lives with her husband and two cats, Stan and Ollie.
